About the Doctors

Dr. Lee Prohofsky

University of Minnesota

Dr. Lee Prohofsky was born and raised in the Twin Cities. He graduated from the University of Minnesota for both undergraduate studies, focused on biology and art, and continued his education, receiving his D.D.S. degree in 1993. Upon graduating, he worked as a general dentist in the Metro area, with the belief that general practice provides the "variety of life." To provide all aspects and procedures gives him great enjoyment, but he has found his greatest joy in changing people's lives through cosmetic procedures.

Through it all, it is the focus on the individual and the daily communications with those people, is his care, which brings the utmost rewards. Away from the office, he enjoys time with his family, which includes his wife Andrea, daughters Julianna and Naomi, son Nathaniel, and his two golden retrievers, Spectre and Nina. Family times are what it is all about, regardless of the event. "The world of sports is always a topic that carries patients through their appointments." Interests also include cooking, arts, and history. He is also the type of person who "loves to travel, but never goes anywhere." Yet, family car trips hold many fond memories, with hopes there are more in the future.

He also worked in private practice in the metro area since 1984 to 2006. He joined Turtle Cove Dental center in 2006 to provide all aspects of general dentistry.

Dr. Lam's hobbies and interests include traveling, lake and reef fishing, painting and woodworking. His community activities include: Outreach dental voluntary service for underserved children in Central America. He is also active in his local church and community service.

Dr. Max Barsky

University of Minnesota

I attended the University of Minnesota where he received a Bachelor degree in physiology. Graduated from University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2006.

I thoroughly enjoy seeing patients of all ages and treating each patient like a family member. My primary goal is to provide my patients with outstanding care in a comfortable and trusting environment. I attended many continuing education classes throughout the past five years, like Postgraduate Program in Esthetic Dentistry, so I can provide my patients the best dental health care. I am a member of many professional organizations including: the Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy of GP Orthodontics, the American Dental Association; the Minnesota Dental Association; the St. Paul Dental Society.

Summer 2011, I was rewarded with the Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry. As a recipient of the Fellowship award, I joined more than 7,000 active AGD Fellows who understand that providing great smiles and good oral health for their patients are the result of going above and beyond basic requirements.

“We are proud to honor Dr. Barsky for his commitment to the profession,” says AGD President Howard Gamble, DMD, FAGD. “He has distinguished himself professionally among his peers and demonstrates the characteristics of a role model to both his fellow dentists and to the members of the community.”

Outside of dentistry, I enjoy playing basketball and spending time with my family: my wife, Dina, and daughter, Gabriella.
